The spoon: the art of measuring correctly
At Maïdo, there's one rule for a good matcha: don't mess up the dosage! Because between "not enough" and "way too much," a whole world of flavors awaits you.
Our Chashaku (scoop) is not just any spoon. It's your best ally against approximations, carved from bamboo in a shape specifically designed for matcha. This small, curved spatula, as humble as it is elegant, prevents you from turning your precious tea into green soup or colored water.
No more "how much do I put again?". One level scoop = approximately 1g of matcha. Two scoops for those who love a stronger taste. Simple, effective, and you'll keep a light hand even when you're still in a morning fog.
What's the difference between our matchas?
What makes matcha so special?
Gentle and stress-free energy
Unlike coffee, matcha boosts without the jitters. It promotes stress reduction, offering a calming and steady vitality, accompanied by a feeling of well-being that lasts for hours.
Powerful antioxidants
A small spoonful of matcha contains more antioxidants than a handful of blueberries. A real natural boost to support your body every day.
Calm & Mental Clarity
L-theanine naturally present in matcha promotes a clear, focused, and calm mind. Perfect for staying focused without tension. The zen and productive duo we love!
Easy digestion & happy tummy
Matcha aids digestion and reduces bloating. A gentle ally for those with sensitive stomachs.
FAQs
Approximately 1g of matcha, which is perfect for one serving of usucha (light matcha). For a more intense flavor, feel free to use two. And if you're the type who likes a kick, three scoops will do the trick, but be warned: matcha contains caffeine.
Technically yes, but you lose all the charm! The curved shape of the chashaku perfectly hugs the bottom of the bowl and allows you to gently scrape the powder without losing a single speck. Using a regular spoon is a bit like eating sushi with a fork...
It's simple: a quick rinse with lukewarm water and that's it! No need for vigorous scrubbing. Bamboo doesn't like dishwashers or chemical products. Let it air dry and it will last you a long time.
Over time, your chashaku may develop a slight patina and take on a beautiful golden hue. This is normal and even rather elegant! It's the sign of a tool that has lived and served you well.
Years and years! Unlike the chasen which wears out, the chashaku is practically indestructible. Unless you lose it or intentionally break it, it will accompany you for a very long time in your matcha rituals.
Like our whisk: it's a no... Bamboo is a durable material, but fragile if not properly cared for. So take a few seconds to hand wash your spoon and you can keep it for several years!
Matcha, but not just anyhow
It all started in Japan, with a rejection... then a revelation. I couldn't find that matcha, the one that made me slow down, savor, and understand, anywhere in France. So, we decided to share it, genuinely, without fuss, and without strange powders.
Behind Maïdo Matcha, there's a real story, encounters, suitcases full of tea, and a lot of curiosity.
Maïdo is much more than matcha
At Maïdo Matcha, we don't do things by halves. Our teas are grown in Japan, respecting traditions, without additives or questionable powders. We prioritize authenticity, transparency, and a sincere approach, no unnecessary fuss.
Our partners share this vision: eco-responsible logistics, zero plastic, 100% green energy, and humane and equitable working conditions.
And above all, we remain true to our mission: to help you discover exceptional matchas, to be accessible, honest, and always a little bit complicit.
