3. Then add 100 to 180 ml of hot water, according to your taste.

🥛 Hojicha latte version
1. Sift 1 to 3 g of hojicha powder into a cup or mug.

Aki-san: A name, a soul, a taste.
At Maïdo, each tea has a personality.
Aki-san (秋) is autumn.
It's that time of year when the days slow down, the light softens, and we appreciate simple moments more. This hojicha fits perfectly with that atmosphere.
Warm, round, and lightly roasted, it brings an immediate sense of comfort.
It’s the kind of drink you choose to settle down with, breathe, and enjoy a moment to yourself.
And yet, behind this apparent simplicity, Aki-san hides a true finesse.
Made from first-flush leaves, it develops more subtle aromas, a smoother texture, and a complexity not always found in classic hojicha.
A perfect balance. A taste that soothes without tiring. A hojicha that naturally becomes part of daily life.

FAQs
Matcha and hojicha are both Japanese green teas, but they couldn't be more different!
Matcha is made from young leaves ground into a fine powder, with a vegetal taste and a beautiful green color.
Hojicha, on the other hand, is a roasted green tea: its leaves are roasted at high temperatures, which gives it a golden-brown color and gourmet notes of hazelnut, caramel, and toasted grains. The result: zero bitterness, a comforting sweetness, and a much lower caffeine content than matcha. Two worlds, one shared passion for Japanese tea.
Yes, but very little! Roasting significantly reduces the caffeine present in the leaves. We're talking about 7 to 20 mg per cup, compared to up to 200 mg for coffee. This is what makes hojicha a perfect ally for the afternoon, or even the evening, without risking counting sheep all night long.
If you are sensitive to caffeine, hojicha could very well become your new best friend.
It couldn't be simpler! Place a teaspoon of hojicha powder in your cup, add hot water at around 75-80°C, and mix well.
Craving a hojicha latte? Add milk or plant-based milk (hot or cold), froth it, and there you have it: a cozy moment in less than a minute. No need to be a tea master to enjoy it.
Not at all, and that's precisely what makes it so special! Roasting eliminates the tannins responsible for bitterness.
The result? Sweet, roasted, slightly sugary notes, reminiscent of hazelnut or caramel. It's a tea that even people who don't like tea enjoy.
